At the Independence Cluster in West Friendship, Maryland
January 1, 1970 /CH Twin Oaks T.K.O “Tyson”, owned by Kathi and Lee Leonhardt, became a new
champion at the Independence Cluster in West Friendship, Maryland with a 3
point major, handled by Jack Secrest.- Tyson had just won BOW at the Mountaineer KC show June 30th for 2 points. He was handled by Kathi Leonhardt’s sister, Terri Howser, who was showing for her very first time!
- Also, Hallbent Most Happy Fella, “Jordan”, owned by Kathi and shown by Jack Seacrest,
won his very first point at the Annapolis show.

A great summer start for Jeanne Lin & Boomer
January 1, 1970 /“Boomer” CH Bertschire’s Flash Point WC had a fantastic FCRSA Specialty. In the breed ring, she placed second in Open under Judge Houston Clark. Boomer also earned her WC and was awarded a JAM in Unsteady Singles B.
At the Southern MD KC show on July 1st under Judge Lisa Weiss, Boomer took BOB and finished!
Boomer is owned and handled by Jeanne Lin and supported by Bernie Strozeski. Thanks to all the Capital Region members who were at Specialty and the So MD Dog Shows and rooted everyone on!.

4/11/02 – 4/14/02 At the Dauphin Dog Training Club Agility Trial in Harrisburg, PA
January 1, 1970 /“Zu”, Ch Victory’s Bravo Zulu CD JH AX AXJ WCX, placed third in his Excellent A JWW class on April 11th, finishing his AXJ title. He earned two more qualifying legs on April 12th and 14th, one in JWW, one in Standard. Zu is owned by Chris and Kate Hutchinson, trained and handled by Kate.

January 1, 1970 /“Wags”, AM/CAN CH Quillquest Wendy’s Wagtail AM SH WCX CAN SH WCI qualified for her WCX 2 times in Canada ,once in Calgary following the Specialty , and then again last week-end in Maxville [near Ottawa.]
Ubi qualified at the same tests obtaining her WCI title in Calgary and Ottawa. She is now CH SR Quillquest Xuberance AM CAN CDX JH AM WC CAN WCI
Both dogs are owned, bred and handled by Gillian Impey.

Sherri Lilley and Reggae had a great spring
January 1, 1970 /“Reggae”, Ch SR TLC & Shalyn’s Rhythm O’ the Island *CD* CGC, owned/trained by Sherri Lilley, earned her first Novice B Standard Preferred agility leg with second place and a score of 95 at the Hampton Roads Training Club in Gloucester, VA on April 6, 2003.
Reggae also completed her CD obedience title in three consecutive shows at the Hampton Roads obedience trial on April 27, The Flat Coated Ret Nat’l Specialty in Carlisle, PA on May 14, and Va Beach Kennel Club on May 24 with second place in Novice B. She also made the cuts at the Flat Coated Nat’l Specialty in the Best of Breed class.

9/4-5/04 – At the FCRSC National Specialty in Ontario, Canada
January 1, 1970 /“Risa”, Ch Rainbow Autumn’s First Frost SH CDX WCX CGC *Can WCX*, handled by Janet, earned her Canadian WCI and WCX titles at the Flat-Coated Retirever Society of Canada’s National Specialty. At the Specialty, Risa ran 3 tests (WCI, WCX and MH) over 2 days and did a super job! She went out on the 3rd series of the Master Hunter test . . . the *10th* series in 2 days proved to be too many (whew!), but we were very, very proud of her work!! Risa is owned, trained, handled and loved by Janet and Cary Ciarico.

11/24 CH Skyelark Gunpowder O’Hytimes CD JH WC “Gunner”, owned by Richard Street and Lynn Sutton, became a finished champion and completed his Companion Dog title in the same day at Upper Marlboro.

2/7 – At the Annapolis Kennel Club show in Baltimore, the Blazin flatcoats had a great day
January 1, 1970 /– Blazin’s Cosmic Thing “Junebug”, owned by Dawn Buttion and Marty Archambeault, handled by Dawn, got Winners Bitch and Best of Opposite Sex
– Blazin’s Carpe Diem “Dino”, owned by Scott and Tina Borden, handled by Dawn Buttion, got Winners Dog and Best of Winners
– CH Blazin’s Back O’ The Moon CD CGC WC “Cosmo”, owned by Dawn Buttion and Marty Archambeault, finished the third leg of his CD in the morning. In the afternoon, under Dawn’s handling, Cosmo won Best of Breed and made the cut in the Sporting Dog group ring! -
9/13/98 Warrenton Kennel Club agility trial in Rectortown, VA
January 1, 1970 /CH Hy-Tymes Virginia Reel CD SH AX WCX “Ginnie”, came out of a year ‘on the bench’ for an injury to finish her SH and AX her first time out competing for both. She was handled by her owner, Judy Delventhal. This qualifies Ginnie for the FCRSA Hall of Fame where she joins several other CRFCRC flat-coats including her dad, Stoney.
Ginnie will be retired from agility, but is looking to finish up her CDX this year and then she and Judy will be looking for birds in her debut next year in Master Hunter!!

9/23 – 9/24 At the Northern Piedmont tests in Newville, Pennsylvania
January 1, 1970 /SR Aheka Smoke In His Eyes CD JH WC CGC, “Cinders “earned his NAHRA Started Retriever title in four straight tests on two consecutive weekends. This also earned him his NAHRA brass band. He picked up his first two legs Sept 16 & 17 at the Hudson Highlands tests at the Stewart properties in Montgomery, New York and finished the next weekend (Sept 23 & 24).
