5/4  CH Lyric Queen of the Mountain CDX Can CD JH Am/Can WC SHR CGC “Ravin” owned by Dawn Buttion and Marty Archambeault, finished her CDX at the CRFCRC’s Spring Supported Entry.

SR Lyric’s Kay WC CGC TDI “Katie”, owned by Al Jenkins, qualified at her third and fourth (for this calendar year) Started Retriever test at the Old Dominion RC.  By completing four Started tests in a calendar year, she has earned her Started Brass Band award from the North American Hunting Retriever Association (NAHRA).

– SR Lyric’s Kay JH WCX CGC TDI “Katie”, owned by Al Jenkins, handled by Al, won Best of Opposite Sex on Thursday, Best of Winners/Best of Opposite Sex on Friday, Best of Opposite Sex on Saturday, and Reserve Winners Bitch on Sunday!

–  CH Blazin’s Carpe Diem JH WC CGC “Dino”, owned by Scott & Tina Borden and handled by Dawn Buttion, won Best of Breed on Friday and again on Saturday.

Blazin Dunlin of Tidalflats, “Lin”, owned by Jane Borazcek and Cliff Williams, took back-to-back majors during her first weekend out this spring!  She went WB and BW for a 4 point major on Saturday and WB for 3 more points on Sunday out of the 9-12 month class.  Lin was amateurly handled by mom (i.e. Jane) to both wins.

(Editor’s note:  Lin’s mom is actually an experienced, but modest, handler!)

CH Darktarn Neptune’s Raven, “Raven” had the following BOB wins:
9/1 Fri. Furniture City KC – Greensboro NC
9/2 Sat. Furniture City KC – Greensboro NC
9/3 Sun. Salisbury NC KC- Raleigh NC
Raven is owned by Marion Butsavage & Jane Brumley;  He is handled by Lori Pauley.

CH SR TLC & Shalyn’s Rhythm O’ the Island, “Reggae”, at one year of age, earned her NAHRA (North American Hunting Ret Assoc) Started Hunting title, completing her 3rd and 4th legs. Reggae is owned, loved and trained by Sherri Lilley.

Ch Allegro’s Free Man in Paris *SH* WCX, “Beau”, qualified at the American Chesapeake Club hunt test in Baldwinsville, NY, on June 7, 2003 for his fourth and final Senior Hunter leg to earn his title. Just a few weeks earlier (May 11) at the FCRSA National Specialty in Carlisle, PA, Beau qualified for his third SH leg. Beau is owned by Linda and Mark Reynolds, and handled by Linda.

“After taking over a year off due to injuries, family traumas, and a little event called the 2003 FCRSA national…we finally got back to doing stuff with *our* dogs this summer. Consequently, we have 2 new JHs in the house:

“Cosmo”, Ch SR SHR U-CDX U-AGI Blazin’s Back O’ The Moon UD JH AX NAP NJP WCX CGC TT HOF, leaped out of retirement with no training to earn his 1st OAP and OJP legs, both with first place clean runs! Cosmo is owned and handled by Melody Daniels.“Reggae”, Ch SR TLC Shalyn Rhythm O’ The Island CD *NA* NAP CGC, owned, trained and handled by Sherri Lilley, finished her NA title with a perfect score and first place in Novice B 24″ class, and earned her 2nd NAJ leg with another first place!“Piper”, Ch Blazin’s Enchanted Forest *OA OAJ* CGC, earned her 3rd OAJ leg for her OAJ title and her 2nd and 3rd OA legs for her OA title!! Piper had 4 perfect runs this weekend for 4 placements and 2 titles.

“Prue”, Ch Blazin’s Eternal Flame CD *OAJ*, earned her 2nd and 3rd OAJ legs for her OAJ title and her 2nd NA leg. Prue also pulled off 2 perfect runs, 3 placements and a new title. Piper and Prue are owned and handled by Dawn Buttion and Marty Archambeault. For even more fun, we competed in the team agility challenge, using Cosmo, Reggae, Piper and Prue . . . and this team called “Cosmo Connection” won the competition with first place out of 10 teams! There was also a *club* team challenge, and we ran the same dogs representing CRFCRC and placed second in the club challenge! In addition to our own placement rosettes, each of us received a blue/white rosette for our first place in the team challenge, and a red/white rosette for our second place finish in the club team challenge.

“Tink”, SR Claymore’s Tinker Bell CD JH CGC, owned by Peter Alea and Al Jenkins, took WB two of the four days and RWB the other two days for a total of four points from the Open class.

“Reggae”, Ch SR TLC Shalyn’s Rhythm of the Island CD NA NAP NAJ WC CGC, took BOS all four days, owner handled by Sherri Lilley. Three of the four puppies in Reggae’s litter sired by Dino made their debut at six months:

“Shayla”, Shalyn’s Not Just A Pretty Face, took WB two of the four days and RWB the other two days for a total of four points from the Bred by Exhibitor class. “Shayla” also took a Group III from the Bred By Exhibitor Sporting Group offered only on Sunday, owner handled by Sherri Lilley.

“Diva”, Shalyn’s Queen of the Opry, took two first places, a second and a third in the 6-9 month puppy class, owner handled by Erika Debout who is fourteen at her very first AKC shows.

“Lily”, Shalyn’s Wildwood Flower, took a first and three third places in the 6-9 month puppy class, owner handled by Anne Fisher.

“Cosmo”, Ch SR SHR U-CDX U-AGI Blazin’s Back O’ The Moon UD JH AX NAP NJP WCX CGC TT HOF, father of Tink and Reggae and grandfather of Shayla, Diva and Lily, only showed two of the four days, on Sunday winning BoB from the Veteran class and a Sporting Group IV, owner handled by Melody Daniels.
