FCRSA Specialty Fun

June 21, 2019

In June I traveled to Oregon to the FCRSA specialty with Colin, Bryce, Juvi, Piston and Cabbie.  Eight days in a car and eight days at a dog show and we all survived bringing home some ribbons too!  Here are their brags.

Juvi, GCH Blazin’s License To Drive CDX PCDX BN GN RAE MX MXJ OF T2B, qualified in master agility, veteran obedience, advanced rally and won a ribbon in conformation earning her the Sasquatch Award.  Specialty highlights included a double Q, an agility High Flat-Coat In Trial and a 2nd place in the large 7-9 Veteran Sweepstakes class!!

Piston, GCH Blazin’s Off Road Drive’N BN RI AX AXJ NF, qualified in master agility including a double Q, advanced rally and made the cut in breed earning him the Sasquatch Award.

Cabbie, Blazin’s Questionable Drive’R, placed 4th in the 9-12 Puppy Sweepstakes class and 1st in the 9-12 Puppy Bitch class.

It was a very fun 2 weeks seeing lots of country side in a very short time!  Juvi, Piston and Cabbie are owned and loved by Dawn, Marty, Colin & Bryce.

From the AKC Breed Standard:

The Flat-Coated Retriever is a versatile family companion hunting retriever with a happy and active demeanor, intelligent expression, and clean lines. The Flat-Coat has been traditionally described as showing “power without lumber and raciness without weediness.” The distinctive and most important features of the Flat-Coat are the silhouette (both moving and standing), smooth effortless movement, head type, coat and character.
