We went from being dog-less to two dogs in 3 weeks. Patches was my niece's dog. My sister was going through a nasty divorce and had to find homes for the family dogs. We said we would take in Patches. So 3 weeks after Zephyr came to live with us, Patch was added to the pack. She was about 12 years old. She had had a very rough time and needed lots of TLC. She adopted Zephyr instantly as her puppy. Living with him brought out her zest for life. She now retrieves, and specializes in keeping our yard free of moles, squirrels and chipmunks. She is a typical terrier mix, letting the world know her opinion.
Jack was a part of our family for fifteen years. He was a beautiful mixed breed. His soft spaniel eyes spoke to me the day that I first saw him at the SPCA. He was cherished by all of my family.
Rudy came to us as a foster when he was 5.5 months old. I didn't want this thrice rejected wild thing in my house at Christmastime, but such is rescue. We all fell in love with him, especially his buddy Franklin and he just had to stay. While he is more of a snuggler than a worker, he is a very birdy boy and loves doing field stuff.
Rudy is finally becoming a flyball dog, earning his FDCh on 10/10/09 and coming very close to his FDCh-Silver, which will only take one more good heat! Not the speedster his sister Marcie is, but he knows his job!
