Bertschire’s Acceleration

November 20, 2001 — November 5, 2008

 Sylvia Horasek & Larry Wimmers

Dart came to us essentially as a rescue after her owner passed on. She had not had a lot of life experience in her 5 years and her first few weeks were a rough ride. But she settled in. She was a belly slute, Queen of the Farmer’s Market, and a terror to the birds who hung out in the bushes. We lost Dart to kidney failure due to Lyme’s disease. She was with us for less than 2 years but she will be forever in our hearts.

From the AKC Breed Standard:

The Flat-Coat has been traditionally described as showing “power without lumber and raciness without weediness.” The distinctive and most important features of the Flat-Coat are the silhouette (both moving and standing), smooth effortless movement, head type, coat and character.
